E' nata a San Pier d’Isonzo nel 1954. Insegnante nelle scuole elementari fino al 1993, approfondisce e sviluppa successivamente l’attività artistica. Nel 1995 prende parte al film della Televisione Slovena “La Storia del cantastorie” con i suoi disegni della fiaba e altre produzioni artistiche. Dal 1996 il suo interesse principale si è focalizzato sul corpo umano, esprimendosi in pitture e sculture: dalla serie MySELF (busti sartoriali rivisitati) ai cicli SHE e Siren, alle recenti SHErene e delpHEni (corpi completi con una coda di cetaceo). Naturale evoluzione è stata la performance, alla quale si dedica dal 2003, dopo l’esperienza di “visiting artist ” in Irlanda, presso il Cill Rialaig Retreat, durante la quale ha iniziato con un progetto relativo a Fungi, delfino della baia di Dingle, operando in stretto rapporto con l’ambiente locale e la natura. Ha finora sviluppato la poetica SHEren&dolpHEn con azioni sul tema a Madrid, Helsinki e Pälkäne in Finlandia, Minden in Germania, Venezia, Santa Maria di Leuca, Rignano sull’Arno e Montegrotto Terme in Italia, “nutrendosi” parallelamente con l’attività di mailartista. Espone in Italia e all’estero. Ha dipinto murales in Germania, a Bordano e a Castellana Sicula. E’ attiva nel network.

Being a teacher in primary schools until 1993, she deepened and developed successively her artistic activity. In 1995 she took part in the Slovena Television film “La Storia del cantastorie” (the Story of wandering storyteller) with her drawing of fairy and other artistic productions. Since 1996 her main interest was on human body manifesting in painting and sculpture: from the series MySELF (revisited sartorial chests) to the sets of SHE and Siren, to the recent SHErene and delpHEni(complete bodies with cetacean tail). Natural evolution was the performance, from which she has dedicated since 2003, after the experience of “visiting artist” in Ireland, by the Cill Rialaig Retreat, during which she began with a new project relating to Fungi, the dolphin of the bay of Dingle, operating in strict relation with the local environment and the nature. Until now she has developed the poem SHEren&dolpHEn with actions on theme in Madrid, Helsinki and Pälkäne in Finland, Minden in Germany, Venice, Santa Maria di Leuca, Rignano on the Arno e Montegrotto Terme in Italy, “living on” contemporaneously the activity of mail artist. “A MOvie SHErenaDa:Tarocchi da viaggio” performance di Laura Cristin & Dario Della Rossa

Laura Cristin e Dario Della Rossa partecipano al VII Festival Hermatena “Scienze, Arte, Alchimia” che si terrà dal 22 al 30 giugno 2007 in occasione dell’inaugurazione del Museo dei Tarocchi di Riola di Vergato (Bologna) con una performance sul tema che avrà luogo nel pomeriggio di domenica 24 giugno a Grizzana Morandi, nel Borgo Medievale La Scola ( in caso di maltempo presso i Fienili di Campiamo). A MOvie è un percorso iniziatico per le vie dei Tarocchi dell’Amore, attraverso 22 ‘movimenti’ da (s)combinare a piacere. Ogni frammento musicale visivo è riconducibile a uno degli Arcani maggiori e tutti insieme danno vita a una SHErenaDa in cui le note del musicista di Cosenza Dario Della Rossa sconfinano/continuano/iniziano con le annotazioni (gli spunti) della performer Laura Cristin, nella sua.identità di SHEren. Per creare insieme una musica da viaggio che nasce da e suggerisce 22 moti dell’anima da immaginare e con i quali ognuno può predisporre la propria compilation. Mettendosi ogni volta nel prospettiva del “Matto”, nel punto 0 della ROTA dei TAROcchi … e l’Alchimia dell’Amore diventa contesto spaziale e temporale ‘aperto’ nel quale ‘navigare’.

Laura Cristin and Dario Della Rossa participate in VII Festival Hermatena “Science, Art, Alchemy” taking place from 22 to 30 June 2007 on the occasion of the opening of the Museum of Tarots in Riola di Vergato (Bologna) with a performance on the theme scheduled for Sunday, June 24th in Grizzana Morandi, at the Medieval village La Scola (Fienili del Campiaro in case of bad weather). A MOvie is a proposal for a journey along the Tarots of Love (AMOre) ways (vie) through 22 ‘movements’. Each musical-visual piece is related to one Arcane. Together they compose a SHErenaDa in which the piano playing by the musician from Cosenza Dario Della Rossa continue/go beyond/start with the suggestions of the performer Laura Cristin in her art-identity of SHEren. A MOvie is a travel music that comes from 22 moti dell’anima with which one can create his/her own compilation. It is a SHErenaDa that starts/ends each time from the point 0 of the Wheel of TarOts, in the perspective of the Fool. …and the Alchemy of Love becomes an open-space-and-time-network where is possible to ‘sail’.

Laura Cristin in the artistidentity of SHEren from Udine and Dario Della Rossa musician from Cosenza meet for a SHErenaDA performance in the ancient chestnut wood of Poranceto for the occasion of the Festival dedicated to Tarots. The poetic and the movements of SHEren interweaving with the most immaterial of the arts in the music composed (or improvised) played at the piano by Della Rossa. For giving shape to “the Judgement” of the spiritual beginning (as represented in the painting “Traveling SHErensign A-M-O” related to the first SHErenaDA in Santa Maria di Leuca, October 2005), but also to the “the Fool”, the card 0 of the ROTA (Wheel) of TAROts, in the atmosphere of Around a weeping willow (SHEren’s action for V Festival Hermatena). To understand the way travelled so far and to start again, creating an open context where is possible to “sail” in the network of lOve.

Laura Cristin.
Performing since 2003, after an art residency in Ireland and then in Spain, Finland, Germany, Italy, U. K. (London Biennale 2006) and Mexico (Performagia 4 at MUCH). Her main interest at the moment is the interaction of the body expression with the Music, that she makes in collaboration with Dario Della Rossa, author of the pieces for her performances since 2004.
