Critico musicale e indagatore delle controculture, è dalla fine degli anni ’70 uno dei più attivi e stimati operatori del circuito internazionale della mail art. Co-fondatore e redattore del mensile Rumore, ha collaborato a parecchie testate (Rockerilla, Velvet, Neutral, Sonora, Pulp, ArtLab, Juliet, etc.) e scritto o curato volumi su Residents, Psychic TV, sulla musica elettronica, sulle colonne sonore rock, sulla copy art, sulla mail art e sull’arte psichedelica dei ’60. Dall’ottobre del 1979 assembla manualmente Arte Postale, rivista di mail art a periodicità e formato irregolare di cui sono usciti ben 80 numeri, cura inoltre a Viareggio l’archivio E.O.N. (Ethereal Open Network) una delle più vaste raccolte di mail art del pianeta, partecipando ogni anno a decine di esposizioni e progetti postali. Partecipa regolarmente ad esposizioni di poesia visuale e libri d’artista, una collezione consistente dei suoi lavori è ospitata nel Sackner Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry di Miami Beach, in Florida. Dal 1981 al 1987 concepisce e guida con Piermario Ciani le attività del gruppo internazionale multimedia TRAX, che produce riviste, cassette, dischi, esposizioni, performance. Ancora con Ciani collabora al Luther Blissett Project e al progetto Stickerman (dando vita allo Stickerman Museum), i due fondano inoltre nel 1966 le AAA Edizioni, che pubblicano numerosi saggi sull’arte contemporanea e la cultura di rete, libri-oggetto ed altre anomalie librarie. Nel 2000 ha curato la sezione mail art nell’ambito di un’ampia retrospettiva sulle avanguardie artistiche del XX secolo, Sentieri interrotti al Museo d’Arte Moderna di Bassano del Grappa. Dal 2002 insieme a Ciani ed altri artisti internazionali, promuove il progetto F.U.N. (Fantastic United Nations), con una serie di mostre, eventi e pubblicazione di francobolli, cartoline e banconote di nazioni immaginarie.

Musical Critic and Investigator of counter-cultures. Since the end of the seventies, Vittore Baroni has been one of the most active and esteemed workers in the international sphere of a mail art. As a Co-founder and an editor of monthly Rumore, he dealt with many headlines (Rockerilla, Velvet, Neutral, Sonora, Pulp, ArtLab, Juliet, etc.) and also wrote or edited volumes on Residents, Psychic TV, on an electronic music, on a rock soundtrack, on a copy art, on a mail art, and on a psychedelic art of the sixties. Since October, 1979 he has collected manually Postal Arts, magazine of a regular mail art and an irregular format of which 80 issues were published, and then in Viareggio the archive E.O.N (Ethereal Open Network) one of the vastest collections of mail arts in the world, and participates each year tens of expositions and postal projects. He has regularly taken part in expositions of visual poetry and books of artist, a collection consisting of his works was admitted in the Sacker Archive of Concrete and Visual Poetry of Miami Beach, in Florida. From 1981 to 1987 he and Piermario Ciani guided the activity of the international multimedia TRAX group, which produced magazines, cassettes, disks, expositions, and performance. Successively, they still collaborated for Luther Blissett project and later the Stickerman project (to liven up the Stickerman Museum). Furthermore, in 1996 they founded the AAA Edizioni (AAA Editions), which have published a large number of demonstrations on a contemporary art and the science of network, books-object and other particular bookshops. In 2000 he assumed the responsibility on a mail art section in a retrospective and wide sphere on the artistic vanguard of the 20th century, interrupted Paths at the Museum of Modern Arts of Bassano del Grappa. Since 2002, he has worked with Ciani and several other international artists to promote the project F.U.N. (Fantastic United Nations), with a series of exhibitions, events and publication of (postage)stamps, postcards and banknotes of imagined nations.
