When confronting with Tarots and their symbols, life itself assumes a different value. It happened to me, about 30 years ago, in an unconscious way, when I touched a pack of Tarot cards for the first time. I did not know them, but I started reading them instinctively, trying a love-like transport, which up to now has been intense and profound. All I have done, in these years, for instance, to read their symbols, to interpret them, to represent them artistically, to write about them, were almost like dealing with living creatures. I not only wrote about the symbolic meaning of the cards, but also about lyrics, fables, tales, etc…
The plot was slowly created which always strained to grow broader, thanks to the meeting with Ernesto Fazioli with whom, more than 15 years, this tale of emotions has become a real story...
We founded together il Centro Ricerche La Porta della Luna, in which the subject matter of the symbol was expanded to hermetic and anthropological research related to Italian cities and those of foreign countries, focusing on the emblems concealed in principle artistic and architectonical jobs of themselves.
For this reason, the Arts, which were an alchemist heritage in ancient times, always become more and more, important on our route. Tarots were an example of this, through the important Italian Courts : from the Workshop Ferrarese to Viscounts, without considering various schools, handed down, in each Italian region.
Then it was confirmed that the value of the symbol got lost and this technological period completely forgot the hidden meaning in the forms, beyond the appearance.
In the past all was united, a scientist was also a poet, an astrologist, an artist…

In this period of separation, il Museo di Tarocchi (the Museum of Tarots) would like to create a continuity of this past and an active and concrete challenge to the detractors of this universe.
The symbol still exists and each day the artist transforms it, like a skillful alchemist who is at grips with the dark material which will be turned into Gold.
The Museum of Tarots is pleased to give an opportunity to all artists who have been working on this subject matter and will bring to light what is often at risk of remaining hidden and of being forgotten. Whatever lied concealed has been existing and living with a persistent zeal. The Museum of Tarots assumes responsibility in giving visibility to the symbol which lodged inside the Arcana, so that everybody can admire their splendour in the sphere of the new millennium. The originality of this work consists in being the first centre, in Italy and in the world, which deals with the Art and Tarots in the same level.
We intend to offer the visitor the vision of the unique collections of the whole pack of Tarots, in original, realized by both Italian and foreign artists, who work with the most various techniques, from patchwork to sculpture, from painting to graphic arts, from video to performance until arriving at music.
Moreover, inside the Museum it is possible to carry out an interactive course related to an evolutionary scheme of the Arcana.
Thanks to the cooperation of the publishing house, Hermatena, the collections of Tarocchi d’Artista (Artist’s Tarots) are published, at limited issue, originally signed by the artist, made precious from an intervention by hand. The Museum is set in an enchanting historical building of 1600, completely restored, situated between Bologna and Pistoia, among the woods.
This building, apart from being a rich permanent collection, offers a series of cultural events and exhibitions which will be organized not only inside the Museum, but also in the other centres.
Each visit will be a real surprise, also because it is personalized. In fact, Ernesto and I will accompany you inside this forest of symbols, all to discover….and for this reason please remember that reservation is needed.
