The Fool
The Fool, is the number zero of Tarots, the Nothing and the All, concretes itself in the complete irrationality of the personal experience which cannot be predetermined. It represents a new journey, of which the main characters are the impulse, the inspiration, the artistic capacities, and the expression of its intrinsic nature. It is the breeze circling around our lives and bringing the novelty, the game and the desire to explore new horizons. In the deck of Oswald Wirth, there is a tulip.
Elleboro(Hellebore)
Helleborus
The Symbol of Madness. Its name means killing and feeding, or rather a fatal food (for poisonous substances contained in the plant, to which, in the past, the magical world of witchcraft was closely connected). In Greece, it was used for curing mental disorder and giving great imagination.

The Magician
The Magician is number One, and as a consequence it identifies the beginning of the course of life, and the expression of the infinite potentiality of human. It embodies the principle of internal Will giving the strength and the courage of using one’s own mind for formulating the ideas, which can transform into actions, projects and works. In the deck of Oswald Wirth, there is a tulip; that of Rider-Waite red roses, and white lilies.

Antiquely, people held that parsley’s scent stimulated the brain functions, the creativity and the fantasy of poets. The Greeks planted it in the borders of flowerbed to express the concept of finding oneself at the beginning of a business.

The High Priestess
The severe Priestess represented in this card imposes a suspension, a moment of the reflection on life energy of the Magician, and becomes a stimulus for accelerating the process to get into the spiritual world. She discredits the doubt, and introduces us to the place where there are only certainty and Wisdom. Her weapon is the intuition and the feminine power which give the capacity to understand life, through her experiences. This card is the symbol of the Wisdom hidden behind the natural order of things. In the deck of Rider-Waite, there are pomegranate fruits.
Nocciolo(Hazel)
Corylus avellana
The Symbol of intense wisdom. As well as all trees which give fruits of nuts, it is the symbol of hidden knowledge and is associated with God Mother. It was sacred in the Celtic woods and represented knowledge, inspiration, divination, and magical powers. Also the walnut tree shares in this symbolism.

The Empress
The angelic Sovereign of the third card represents the acquisitions of the two precedent cards, with which influence is the typical fecundity of this Arcanum. They reach their perfection from careful observation which transforms Wisdom into Science. Accordingly, the Empress searches for the contact with the worldly life, which gives birth to all things: persons, objects, projects, etc. It is the principle of femininity, of which embodies seduction and self-acceptance. In the deck of Oswald Wirth, there is white lily; that of Rider-Waite wheat and red roses; and wheat together with red marguerite in Spanish deck.
Mirto(Myrtle)
Myrtus communis
The myrtle was associated with Ishtar, Aphrodite, Venus and Turan. A garland of myrtle was the symbol of the bride-mother. In the Greek-Roman World, it signified love and wedding, and happy marriage life and giving birth. The myrtle is the life essence and transmits the breath of life; and furthermore it symbolizes the germination and the rebirth of life. The other symbols related to the third Arcanum are: jasmine, mimosa, pomegranate, and willow.
