Tarots are a series of symbols which hold the primordial energies of existence and send them back to men, on a thin level, through the mantic, that is, by way of the reading of the signs.

It does not exist a univocal definition on Tarots, nor sufficient documents which establish the origin and the real use of them. The problem of their origins, their meaning, their figures, and their utilizations has always been the object of discussion along the course of the centuries and has always provoked curiosity of the art historians, ethnographers, literary men, esotericists. Setting a scene on various suppositions linked with the origin of Tarots, some believe, that their origin were antecedent to the Egyptian culture, connected to some group of people which have disappeared by now, or perhaps long forgotten, to a phantasmal or real Atlantis, the others confirm that the Tarots were in reality instruments in which secret messages were engraved, under the form of symbols and codes, which the hermetic orders zealously protected as “a personal and private knowledge” being handed down just to their followers.
